Blue Jays sign Elian Guzman
According to the Blue Jays transaction log, they have agreed to a minor league deal with Guzman but there has not been much more details about the young pitcher.
Guzman is a 6'2, 175 pound left handed pitcher from the Dominican Republic and is 17 years old but there are no current statistics on where he has been playing the last few seasons.
Appreciate the shoutout. Bluejays will have a couple more I assume that I'm working to get info on. They just signed a pitcher who gets up to 96 today as well.
The Blue Jays have been busy signing a lot of young pitchers over the last few seasons as they continue to try and improve their current farm system that took quite the dip in the rankings a few years ago.
While these minor league signings of international free agents does not mean much as of right now, there has been quite a few talented players that all started as player no one had heard of before.
There is a good chance that Guzman begins his career in the organization by playing for the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays in 2026 before making the jump to Dunedin.
Ross Atkins is still working hard to close some big deals for the Blue Jays but seems to be that improving their minor league system is a big priority of his as well.
