The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking to make a big move on the trade market and a recent proposal suggested they should trade Trey Yesavage.

The Blue Jays are looking at the trade market in hopes of bringing in some offense since apart from Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette, there is not much left on the open market.

Trade proposal made regarding trey Yesavage

On the trade market, the biggest player available is Arizona Diamondbacks Ketel Marte which the Blue Jays are apparently very interested in bringing in as a potential replacement for Bichette.
Reporter Jakob Oliver from Just Baseball recently stated that he believes that the Blue Jays should look at trading Yesavage to the Diamondbacks for Marte since that would be the pitcher that Arizona wants in return instead of Jose Berrios.
"Yesavage would likely be the pitcher Arizona asks for in return from Toronto instead of an aging José Berrios or an expensive short-term vet," Oliver wrote. "While the Blue Jays would likely balk at this, Yesavage could be the young, controllable ace that Arizona is yearning to get in return. The plus for the Blue Jays is that they have so many starters right now that they would be able to offset the loss of Yesavage rather easily." -Jakob Oliver

While adding Marte would be a great replacement for Bichette in terms of offense and defense, moving Yesavage might just be too steep of a price.
The Blue Jays finally have their young ace who was arguably their best pitcher in the playoffs last season and will most likely build off of that in 2026 since last season he only played the last month of the season and in the playoffs.
If the Blue Jays are not able to come to an agreement with the Diamondbacks on another package not involving Yesavage as it would be trading away their future for a solid infielder.
To land a player of Marte's caliber the Blue Jays will be forced to likely part ways with at least one player they would like to keep but hopefully that is a top prospect like Ricky Tiedemann and not a superstar like Yesavage.
