For the first time since 1993 the Toronto Blue Jays are heading to the World Series to face the Los Angeles Dodgers, while the Toronto Maple Leafs are rooting for them to bring it home, they feel a little jealous of their success this season.

The Maple Leafs have not a won a Stanley Cup since 1967 and feel the pressure the other teams in Toronto are putting on them.

Toronto Maple Leafs desire to emulate success of the Blue Jays.

Luke Fox of Sportsnet covered the excitement happening in Toronto right now, with the Blue Jays heading to the World Series, it's all anyone can talk about, including the Toronto Maple Leafs and Steven Lorentz.
"As soon as it left his bat, I knew it was gone. She was kind of rolled over trying to sleep, and I think I woke her up. I've definitely got a little bit more excitement for this Jays group this year than I have in previous years.»-Lorentz

With the Toronto Raptors also winning a championship not too long ago, the Maple Leafs are definitely feeling like the odd team left out in Toronto. They haven't made a deep playoff run in decades and Morgan Reilly in particular is envious of the Blue Jays position.
"There's a small part of you that you're envious of them. You're a bit jealous at what they're doing, just because of Toronto. You watch it firsthand. You're obviously happy for them. It's a great moment for the city. But we want to be able to do that and have a run like that. We felt that when the Raptors did it, too. So, you look at the passion that they're playing with, and that's contagious. And you want to be able to also bring that when your time comes."-Reilly

The Maple Leafs have been criticized for years, for not having that "winning mentality" and laying everything on the line for your team.
As well as not rising to clutch situations, they have been on the losing end of many game 7's in recent memory, and a growing frustration has set in for the fans and the team.
Hopefully the winning ways of the other two Toronto sports teams rubs off a little on the Maple Leafs, they are under more pressure than any team in the NHL to perform given the fanbase and media Toronto has.
