The minimum Vladimir Guerrero Jr is looking for from the Blue Jays has finally been announced
Guerrero has been very clear with the Blue Jays that he is looking for a lot more than their first offer of $340 million as he knows if he waits until free agency he will be able to land close to $500 million.
According to a recent report, Guerrero is said to be looking for a minimum of $450 million from the Blue Jays in his contract extension if he were to sign a deal before Spring Training.
Guerrero and the Blue Jays are at least $100 million apart, with Guerrero seeking at least $450 million.
If Guerrero doesn't receive an extension by spring training, he'll test free agency. If Guerrero doesn't return to the Blue Jays, he would love to be with the Red Sox, friends say, which may be why the Red Sox are hesitant in their pursuit of Bregman. -Nightengale
Clearly Guerrero has no plan of settling for less according to reports and no matter how much Ross Atkins tries, Guerrero will no budget under $450 million.
Guerrero has by far the Blue Jays best player in 2024 and is clearly worth at least $450 million which is why so many are confused as to why the Blue Jays will not offer it to him.
The two parties are set to have a meeting in the next few days but it looks like if Atkins has any plan of lowballing Guerrero, all he will be doing in ruining their chances even more.
