MLB Network announces potential blockbuster trade for Toronto Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero to the Chicago Cubs

The Blue Jays have yet to to come to an agreement on a contract extension for Vladimir Guerrero Jr and due to general manager Ross Atkins refusing to talk about it, many believe that the team is willing to listen to trade offers.

This morning the MLB Network decide to display a potential trade between the Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs that would see both Kevin Gausman and Vladimir Guerrero Jr headed to the Cubs.

Anthony Castrovince of the MLB Network proposed a possible trade that would have Guerrero and Gausman traded to the Cubs in exchange for Cody Bellinger, Michael Bush and Cade Horton.

While the return for the Blue Jays would be pretty solid in this situation as getting both Busch and Bellinger with an incredible prospect in Horton would be a great return, giving up your two best players for these guys is a tough exchange.

The Blue Jays clearly need to shake things up this off-season if they want to turn things around from being the worst team in the division last season but trading away your best hitter and best pitcher might not be the solution.

Deciding to move just one of these players would be tough enough but if the Blue Jays are able to get a great return it could make sense but moving both Gausman and Guerrero simply does not add up.

Hopefully if the Blue Jays truly are interested in trading Guerrero, they do not package him with Gausman who is by far their best pitcher right now.
