The Toronto Blue Jays are now in a tough spot with the reliever market and are looking at trade which a recent proposal saw then landing Mason Miller.
One of the Blue Jays biggest mistakes of the Winter Meetings was not closing on a solid relief pitcher as both Edwin Diaz and Robert Suarez both signed leaving not much out there.
Trade proposal between the Blue Jays and Padres for Mason Miller
The Blue Jays have no choice but to look at the trade market now that some of the best relievers on the free agent market have signed elsewhere.
A recent proposal announced stated that the Blue Jays could look into acquiring Miller from the Padres in exchange for Jose Berrios and Ricky Tiedemann.
Blue Jays Acquire:
Mason Miller RHP
San Diego Padres Acquire:
Jose Berrios RHP
Ricky Tiedemann LHP
Mason Miller RHP
San Diego Padres Acquire:
Jose Berrios RHP
Ricky Tiedemann LHP
This proposal could actually work since the Padres are apparently now listening to offers on Miller who they acquired from the Athletics at the trade deadline last year.
Heyman: Padres are listening on Mason Miller and Nick Pivetta.
The asking price is high, and San Diego is still looking to add starting pitching.

This trade would not only be great for Toronto but would also for for San Diego who is looking for a reliable starting pitcher with Berrios and they would also be getting a top prospect Tiedemann.
Since the Blue Jays are looking to move Jeff Hoffman out of the closer role, bringing in Miller who has the best fastball in baseball would certainly fit perfectly into their plans.
This trade could actually work perfectly for both teams and could end up happening.
