Today is the ninth anniversary of the legendary Jose Bautista bat flip from the 2015 American League Division Series when the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Texas Rangers.
When it comes to the most iconic baseball moments of the 21st century, there aren't many that can top Jose Bautista's epic bat flip to punctuate his go-ahead, three-run homer in the decisive Game 5 of the 2015 American League Division Series between the Blue Jays and Rangers. The magical moment came in the bottom of the 7th inning are two runners were on base after a few errors made by the Texas Rangers in a tie ball with two outs, Bautista stepped up to the plate. The Blue Jays legend had a 1-1 count before hammering the ball over the fences to give the Blue Jays the lead in game 5 which allowed them to move on to the American League Championship Series.
The most iconic moment of the play ended up coming the hit as Bautista made his signature bat flip which had the entire Rogers Centre going absolutely crazy as they cheered him on rounding the bases.
Rangers players and fans are still mad about this incident as they feel the bat flip by Bautista was too much.
