Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Bowden Francis has been struggling to start the season and after last night's game an awful announcement was made.

The entire starting rotation has been off a rough start so far this season, there has been some good moments but the issues is when it comes to consistency which the rotation does not seem to have.

Blue Jays pitcher Bowden Francis leads the MLB in awful stat

Francis came into the season with some massive expectations because of how he finished the season in 2024 in which he was nearly perfect in his last four starts of the 2024 season.
The strong ending to the 2024 season essentially guaranteed Francis a spot in the Blue Jays' rotation once again in 2025, with the hope being that he could continue the dominant stretch. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened. -Pankiw

This year he had a lot of pressure coming into the year but has been struggling a lot lately which continued last night against the San Diego Padres as he only lasted 4 innings giving up his lead leading 15th homerun of the season.
The right-handed pitcher had another rough start on Thursday afternoon, lasting just four innings versus the San Diego Padres. He gave up two earned runs in the short start while walking three on 75 pitches.

Even worse for Francis was that he gave up his MLB-leading 15th home run, this one off the bat of Gavin Sheets. -Pankiw

Francis' ERA has been brutal so far this year since after his performance last night it has now jumped to 5.54 on the season with a 2-6 record which is far from what the team expects.
The Blue Jays starting rotation unfortunately has to keep him in right now since despite the brutal numbers they have no one to replace him since they have very little depth plus Max Scherzer is still out.
The Blue Jays starting rotation was expected to be one of their strength this season has now become one of their biggest weaknesses this season as it has cost them multiple games.
