The Toronto Blue Jays are still trying to get Bo Bichette to stay but it looks like the latest report suggest that he might be on his way out.

The Blue Jays have been listed as the top team to land Bichette this off-season but the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers are not far behind.

Bo Bichette might end up leaving Toronto for divisional rival

Bichette made it clear at the end of the season that he would love to stay in Toronto and continue to play with Vladimir Guerrero Jr in hopes of bringing a World Series back to Canada.
However, Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun reported that Bichette has also publicly stated that he would be willing to play in New York but did not specify if he meant with this upcoming contract or one in the future.
Bichette told everyone who would listen that he wants to stay a Blue Jay as free agency approaches. He wants to continue his World Series quest with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He said that publicly while quietly telling some people he wouldn't mind playing in New York in the future. The immediate future. -Simmons

The Blue Jays decided to not force their offer to Bichette to give him the space to enter free agency and see what else is out there but this might be exactly what ends up having him leave.
The Blue Jays are taking the soft approach here. They're letting Bichette walk to free agency. They are, in their words, respecting the free agency he has earned over time. -Simmons

Following the game 7 loss, many noticed that coach Don Mattingly and Bichette were the last two in the dugout and wondered if they were taking it all in because both knew that they would be leaving.
But I couldn't help but wonder, watching Bichette and Mattingly, the last two standing in the dugout on the last night of this spectacular season, if this was it for both of them. -Simmons

The clear move for the Blue Jays is to hold onto Bichette since losing him will certainly hurt their chances of returning to the World Series next.
If Bichette ends up walking away, the Blue Jays will not have an easy task ahead of replacing his offense for 2026.
