Big update between the Blue Jays and Alex Bregman as negotiations heat up

Alex Bregman is still a free agent and according to recent reports, the Blue Jays have no turned their interested towards him.
The Blue Jays have been linked to the majority of the top free agents available this off-season as they are looking to make some big moves to enter the 2026 season as the favorites for the World Series.
Blue Jays now linked to Alex Bregman
Bregman opted out of his deal with the Boston Red Sox making him once again a free agent but there still seems to be a chance that he returns to Boston depending on how big of an offer he receives.
The Blue Jays have now come into the Bregman picture as there are reports that according to MLB insider Jeff Passan, the Blue Jays are very much in play and could end up landing Bregman.
"I think that the Blue Jays are very much in the mix there. It's a little bit tougher for them because they've had Ernie Clement and Addison Barger at third base. Both have done well there." -Passan
The Blue Jays are known for having a great clubhouse and Passan added that Bregman could be a great fit for that since he is known for being loved by his teammates.
"I think the Blue Jays understand chemistry matters and leadership matters. I think they benefited greatly last year from the team they had on the field. Alex Bregman, say what you will about him, is regarded as a very good clubhouse guy." -Passan
On top of being a great clubhouse presence, the Blue Jays would be adding a great hitter in Bregman who despite having a down year in Boston still finished with 18 home runs, 62 RBIs, a .273 batting average and .360 on base percentage.
The good news in all of this is that the Blue Jays are going after enough big time players that they should find a way to land at least one of them this off-season with either Kyle Tucker or Bo Bichette being the front runners for that.
