The Blue Jays announced on their transactions list that they have officially agreed to a minor league deal with Pinto and that he has been assigned to their Triple-A team in Buffalo.
So far this season in Triple-A, Pinto has 11 homeruns and 42 RBIs with a .268 batting average and .324 on base percentage in 54 games which is some very impressive numbers in a short period of time.
Prior to this season, Pinto has spent the last three years with the Tampa Rays in which his best season came in 2023 when he played in 39 games, finishing with 6 homeruns, 16 RBIs, a .252 batting average and .267 on base percentage.
This signing certainly gives the Blue Jays some much needed catcher depth heading into this final stretch of the season.
The Bisons only have a couple weeks of the season left so it will be interesting to see how Pinto does and if the Blue Jays end up holding onto to him next season.
