The Toronto Blue Jays are looking at multiple options for their infielder next season and they are interested in a possible blockbuster trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks for Ketel Marte.
MLB insider Jon Morosi spoke on the situation involving Marte stating that he believes that there is a 50-50 chance that the Diamondbacks end up trading him this winter.
«I think it's at least a 50-50 chance he could be moved,» said Morosi in an appearance on MLB Network Tuesday morning. «The Diamondbacks are actively listening on Ketel Marte ... among the teams to check in: the Phillies and the Blue Jays." -Morosi

If the Blue Jays trade for Marte they would be getting quite the player but his current deal might not age too well as he is currently 32 years old and signed a six year extension worth $116 million last April.
Marte, 32, signed a six-year, $116 million extension with the Diamondbacks this past April that holds a player option for the 2031 season. -TSN
Last season Marte finished with 28 home runs and 78 RBIs in 126 games with a .283 batting average and .376 on base percentage.
His best season came in 2024 when he finished with 36 home runs and 95 RBIs which while also stealing a total of 106 bases.
