The Toronto Blue Jays announced a roster move this afternoon involving newly acquired Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Yimi Garcia.

The Blue Jays announced at the start of their game against the Milwaukee Brewers that they acquired Kiner-Falefa from the Pirates by claiming him off waivers.

Toronto needed to place Kiner-Falefa on their roster before September 1st to make sure that he is eligible for the playoffs if not he would not be able to play in the post-season.

According to multiple reports, the Blue Jays decided to place Garcia on 60 day IL due to his season ending surgery and have activated Kiner-Falefa.

Yimi Garcia has been transferred to the 60-day IL, an easy move to make room on the 40-man.

Kiner-Falefa was on the Blue Jays last season until he was traded at the deadline for Charles McAdoo.

In 83 games last season with the Blue Jays, Kiner-Falefa finished with 7 homeruns, 33 RBIs, a .240 batting average and .265 on base percentage.

So far this season, Kiner-Falefa has struggled a bit as he has 1 homerun and 35 RBIs in 110 games with the Pirates to go along with a .264 batting average and .300 on base percentage.,

It will be interesting to see how the Blue Jays end up using Kiner-Falefa and how much playing time he will get.
