The Toronto Blue Jays announced yesterday that starting pitcher Jose Berrios has gone down with a right elbow injury and it looks like the results of his MRI have finally come in.

Prior to the Blue Jays final game of the season against the Boston Red Sox, the team announced that Berrios was being placed on IL while they called up Mason Fluharty to replace him in bullpen.

The Blue Jays announced as soon as they placed Berrios on Il that they had him headed to take an MRI of his elbow to see how severe the injury was.
Blue Jays are putting Jose Berrios (elbow) on IL. He's getting an MRI now.
Fans were pretty surprised to hear the news as there had been no signs on him being injured at all but at the same time he has never been injured throughout his career which is why this injuring makes sense especially when looking at how he has been pitching as of late.
Jose Berrios is heading to IL with right elbow inflammation and is on his way to get an MRI right now.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider says it's something Berrios has been «dealing with for a while.»

Paxton Schultz is on his way up.
Hopefully it is nothing too serious but there is a good chance that he is done for the season and the Blue Jays will not him available for the playoffs which means that Eric Lauer has jumped up in the line as a replacement in the starting rotation.
Berrios MRI came back with no structural damage but the team is getting a second opinion regardless since it seems pretty serious.
First MRI revealed no structural damage in Jose Berrios' elbow, said Blue Jays manager John Schneider. Berrios is getting a second opinion to confirm that diagnosis before next steps are set.
Depending on the severity of the injury, this might end up costing the Blue Jays who would have likely looked to trade him this off-season.
