The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to come to an agreement with former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tyler Kinley on a new deal.

A recent report suggest that the Blue Jays could look to trade Yariel Rodriguez which would free up some space in their bullpen and would allow some room for Kinley.

Blue Jays expected to sign Tyler Kinley to one year deal

Insider Mitch Bannon recently stated that he expects the Blue Jays to sign Kinley to a one year deal worth $3.5 million which is why trading Rodriguez would make sense.
Bannon predicts Toronto will sign reliever Tyler Kinley to a one-year, $3.5 million deal, which makes Rodriguez expendable. -Shelton

The Blue Jays are looking to improve their bullpen and landing an experienced pitched like Kinley at such a low cost can go a long way for their bullpen and payroll heading into 2026.
Last season with the Braves and Colorado Rockies, Kinley finished with a 3.96 ERA in 72.2 innings pitched but he really took off when he landed in Atlanta as he had a 0.72 ERA in 24 games with the Braves.
Singing Kinley would not only improve the Blue Jays bullpen but would also allow them to start looking to trade a few pitchers which they have a surplus of.
Bringing in another reliever like Kinley would allow the Jays to trade from an already busy bullpen, as well -Bannon

This could end up being a very interesting signing for the Blue Jays and now that they have landed a couple starting pitchers in Cody Ponce and Dylan Cease, they can start looking at relief pitchers.
The other part of this is that the free agent and trade market has a lot of solid options despite some big names already being taken off the board which is why Ross Atkins has been taking his time signing the right players.
