Kay decided to go after Campbell yesterday, indirectly stating that Campbell should be fired for his broom gestures after the Yankees got swept by the Blue Jays last week.
Campbell decided to respond to the comments on social media last night stating that he respects Kay and that he is just having a little fun because the Blue Jays have not been in first place in a while.
I should point out that I have always had great respect for Mr. Kay. That's a tough market, and he's endured. We haven't been able to say «first place» around here for a while. Just having a little fun!
Fans were quick to point out that Campbell should not apologize to Kay especially after all the comments he made yesterday to which Campbell confirmed that the post was not an apology just an explanation.
This drama between the Blue Jays and Yankees seems to have gotten a bit out on control mainly due to
Kay's comments but it surely will make for an entertaining series the next time these two face each other.
The Blue Jays will be in New York between the 5th of September and the 7th for a three game series against the Yankees which should be fun after all of this drama.
