Jose Bautista was recently on TSN1050, the former Toronto Blue Jays all-star emphasized how big a role the Toronto fans play during the postseason, their rowdiness creates a competitive advantage against the visitors.

The Toronto Blue Jays will host the first two games of the American League Divisional series after winning the AL East.
"The world is reacting to their success, and acknowledges the Blue Jays as a real threat in American League.Sportsnet celebrated the success of the Toronto Blue Jays following their 13-4 win over the Rays and clinching the AL East."-Rainone

Former MLB All Star Jose Bautista claims teams have their hands full with the Toronto Blue Jays and their fans.

Adam Laskaris of the Daily Hive commented on the TSN1050 interview done by Jose Bautista.
"«It's insane just making the opposing players feel that animosity, right? It's going to be huge. It's going to be a great competitive advantage. Everybody, not only in the stadium, but in the city and in the country, [get] behind the players, you get a huge boost from it, because you feel that it's tangible, and it's a privilege for players to be in that position, and I think they know and realize that.»-Bautista

In retrospect the Toronto Blue Jays don't have home field advantage, they have a less than impressive home record during the postseason. As electric as the fans will be, it doesn't seem to affect other teams.
"But Toronto has gone 14-17 over that span at home, with four of their last five games losses. From Oct. 8, 1992 (Game 2 of the ALCS) through Oct. 18, 2016 (Game 4 of the ALCS), the Blue Jays went 12-8 at home during the postseason for a .600 record, but 12 MLB teams had as good or better playoff home records during that span."-Laskaris

The Toronto Blue Jays are poised for a deep playoff run, and while in the past the fan experience hasn't elevated their performance, everything can change this go around. This is the deepest roster they have had in a long time, and are poised for a deep playoff run. With the help of the fans they can get the little extra boost they need to go all the way.
