The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to return to the World Series next season and get the job done, in order to do that they need to improve on their biggest weakness last season which was their bullpen, it's been reported that the Blue Jays are going after Atlanta Braves reliever Raisel Iglesias.

The Blue Jays need to find a more suitable option as their closer than Jeff Hoffman, who struggled in game 7 of the World Series.

Blue Jays going after top reliever Raisel Iglesias.

Drew VonScio of Newsweek reported on the potential acquisition of Iglesias by the Blue Jays, who have their bullpen as one of their top priority.
"The Blue Jays relievers struggled at times, including closer Jeff Hoffman, who struggled in Game 7. Now, Hoffman has reportedly said he isn't set on the idea of being the closer as he wants the organization to do what is best to win. This opens the door for Toronto to add a high-quality reliever to close out games, and one insider is hearing Raisel Iglesias could be its choice."-VonScio

Iglesias appeared in 70 games last season, posting a 3.21 ERA coupled with 29 saves. In the last few years Iglesias has recorded at least 25 saves.
The Braves always knew when they put Iglesias in the game it would be very difficult for opposing teams to gain any momentum for a comeback, and that is exactly what the Blue Jays needed in game 7, and what they will need next season.
"The 35-year-old reliever is in the second tier of the reliever market this winter. With Edwin Diaz and Robert Suarez in their own group at the very top, Iglesias slots in right behind them along with Devin Williams, Pete Fairbanks and Ryan Helsley. Spotrac is showing Iglesias has an estimated market value of $17.6 million over two years, an average of $8.8 million per year."-VonScio

It will be interesting to see how the Blue Jays navigate the free agency to acquire the players they need for another shot at the top of the mountain.
