The Toronto Blue Jays announced some big roster moves ahead of their first game against the Houston Astros as Bo Bichette is headed to IL.

Bichette has missed last game with a knee injury but the team said that there was no concern since his X-Rays came back negative but it looks like that is not the case.

The Blue Jays announced this afternoon that they have placed Bichette on 10-day IL with a knee injury and they have called up Loperfido from Triple-A.
ROSTER MOVES:

OF Joey Loperfido recalled from Triple-A and will be active tonight

SS Bo Bichette (left knee sprain) placed on the 10-day IL, retroactive to September 7
The roster move is retroactive to Sunday meaning that the earliest that Bichette can return would be next Wednesday when the Blue Jays take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

OF Joey Loperfido recalled from triple-A Buffalo.
This move is certainly worrying for the Blue Jays as Bichette has been one of their best players this season and they need him for this final stretch of the season and the playoffs.
The good news is that Loperfido has been great this season for Toronto and will likely do a great job of adding additional offense during Bichette's absence on IL.
