The Toronto Blue Jays had an awful 20-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals yesterday with Max Scherzer

The Blue Jays announced after the loss that starting pitcher Jose Berrios will be coming out of the bullpen moving forward as Trey Yesavage will take his spot in the starting rotation.

Max Scherzer explains what happened against the Royals

Scherzer had one of the shortest starts on his career against the Royals as he got off to a horrible start and did not even last a full inning.

After the game Scherzer spoke on his performance stating that the game simply got away from him and he simply could not recover as they kept hitting everything he was sending their way.

Max Scherzer after the #BlueJays' 20-1 loss:

“Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I took a haymaker to the face. I made some pitches and they got hits on them. Nothing you can do in those situations. I just got beat in all facets of the game.

Scherzer's night ended with 0.2 innings pitched, as he gave up 7 hits and 7 earned runs while walking 1 batter and striking out two more before being pulled.

Max Scherzer's final line vs Royals:

0.2 IP, 7 H, 7 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

This was just the second start in his career that was less than one inning. In the other instance, Scherzer left the game with an injury

The wheels for the Blue Jays seem to be falling off at the worst time possible as they have had a very rough last few games in the most crucial time of the season.

Hopefully the Blue Jays will be able to bounce back against the Royals this afternoon.
