The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be all in on free agent Kyle Tucker and if that deal goes through, they will be forced to make a heartbreaking trade.

The most recent reports on the Tucker situation is that the Blue Jays are one of four teams that have made him an offer and that offer seems to be above $340 million.

Blue Jays will likely be forced to trade Nathan Lukes

The Blue Jays added a couple arms to their bullpen yesterday but it looks like they are not done yet and with that will likely come a trade as there is really not much left on the market.
Ken Rosenthal believes that the Blue Jaysv will likely look to trade away Nathan Lukes, especially if they end up signing Tucker as the two play the same position.
One way for the Blue Jays to add a reliever is by trading one of their lesser outfielders, an option they are considering, according to people briefed on their plans," Rosenthal wrote. "Nathan Lukes, Myles Straw and Joey Loperfido all would be possibilities to move, along with a few others. Lukes projects to be the Jays' starting left fielder unless they sign Kyle Tucker. -Rosenthal

Lukes surprised the entire fan base last season as he was not expected to even make the Opening Day roster and ended up being a massive part of the team finishing with 12 home runs, 65 RBIs and a .255 batting average in 135 games.
2025 was the first full season for Lukes, and the young slugger did not disappoint. Slashing .255/.323/.407 with 12 home runs and 65 RBI, the 31-year-old posted a 2.0 bWAR across 135 games and had some real clutch moments down the stretch. -Brauner

Blue Jays fans will be heartbroken to see Lukes go but if they are able to replace him with Tucker, they will likely get over it rather quickly.
On the other hand, Lukes had a solid season and could likely bring the Blue Jays back some decent value in a trade which they could use to add to their bullpen.
