Since Bichette was still battling through his injury during the World Series and missed all the other playoff games prior to that series, there is a chance that the Blue Jays or whoever else signs him asks him to not play.
First, Bichette will need to sign a new deal before this becomes an issue but there is certainly a possibility that he does not end up playing after all.
If he ends up signing a contract for over $200 million like most experts believe, there is a good chance that this team would not want to risk him aggravating his injury before the season starts.
