The Toronto Blue Jays have grown a reputation in the MLB for being. a very close knit group, and Buck Martinez confirmed that, stating he has never seen a closer clubhouse since being with the Blue Jays, which was a big selling point in Shane Bieber staying and Dylan Cease signing.
Team culture can go a long way, and the Blue Jays have it in spades, it was clearly visible when they were playing.
Blue Jays appear to be closer than ever according to Buck Martinez.
Kylie Tait of Jays Journal reported on the 2025 Blue Jays group, and how the camaraderie played a big part in their success, and allowed to become a desired location for free agents.
"Toronto Blue Jays fans weren't the only ones who were impressed by the camaraderie within the team in 2025. Buck Martinez recently told Hot Stove on MLB Network, "This, to me, was the best clubhouse I've ever seen in the Toronto Blue Jays franchise history."-Tait
With Bieber staying an extra year, rather than going for more money, and Cease signing a monster deal with the Blue Jays, it shows that the culture is affecting everyone.
Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro have started something in Toronto that is built to last, and they deserve an immense amount of credit for what they started.
"«There wasn't a negative thing about the organization in general that I heard. And on top of that, to hear that the clubhouse was as strong and together as it was, it makes sense. They almost won the World Series. I think the proof is in the pudding.»-Cease
With most of the team returning next season, more of the same should be expected for the band of brothers. And hopefully it leads to another magical playoff run.
