Davis Schneider was able to play a total of 36 games for the Toronto Blue Jays last season. During those games, he showed flashes of brilliance, and it led to him getting a start on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Schneider was absent from the Blue Jays lineup in the first three outings of the season. In the Opening Day game against the Rays, the Blue Jays were able to win 8-2. However, over the next two games, the Blue Jays' bats would go on to struggle. This subsequently led to two losses in a row where the Jays were only able to score a total of three runs. John Schneider was well aware of the fact that the team needed an injection of offense, and it led to Davis Schneider getting the start today.
Schneider made the most of his appearances at bat, as he was able to get his first home run of the season. This home run came at the top of the fifth inning when the Jays were already winning by a significant margin. Moments earlier, Justin Turner had hit a home run. Needless to say, the Blue Jays are getting the offense they so desired.

Last season with the Blue Jays, Schneider hit eight home runs, notched 20 RBI, had 32 hits, and also added 23 runs. It was an impressive performance, and fans are hoping to see him get some consistent starts throughout the upcoming season.
At the time of writing this, the Blue Jays are still in the midst of their match against the Rays. This is the fourth and final game of their opening weekend series. At the bottom of the seventh inning, the Blue Jays are winning by a score of 9-1. You can catch the end of the match over on Sportsnet.
