Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins decided to place pitcher Genesis Cabrera on waivers which had fans quite upset as they believed it was a mistake.
The Blue Jays have been vocal about wanting to improve their bullpen for next season which is why it comes as no surprise that the Blue Jays decided to place a few pitchers on waivers but most believed that Cabrera would be returning.

Fans were shocked to find out that Atkins decided to place Cabrera on waivers but when looking at his numbers overall from last season he might have not been the worst pitcher in the Blue Jays bullpen be the numbers were still not good.
Genesis Cabrera had a 1.47 WHIP and a 5.13 FIP with 29 walks in 62.2 innings last season.
He will be easily replaced in the bullpen.

The Blue Jays decided to put him on waivers because they did not believe he was worth his projected salary of $2.5 million which clearly the rest of the MLB agreed with since he cleared waivers last night.
A little surprising to see Blue Jays take Genesis Cabrera off their roster, but evidently they weren't in on him at a projected $2.5 million by

While letting Cabrera go seemed like the right move, the Blue Jays now need to look at replacing these pitchers they let go because the bullpen needs serious help, especially after the multiple players they let go last night.
