Former Blue Jay admits to watching his first game in years due to Toronto's magical run

Dirk Hayhurst, a former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher and former Sportsnet braodcaster, admitted to not having watched a baseball game in about three years, but he couldn't pass up watching his former team in the World Series.

The Blue Jays went on to win in a blowout against the Los Angeles Dodgers to take a 1-0 series lead.

Trevor Beggs of the Daily Hive reported on the love for watching baseball that he refound after three years away from the game. He couldn't pass on watching his former team play in the World Series for the first time in 30 years.
"Hayhurst spent two seasons in the MLB, playing for the San Diego Padres in 2008, before joining the Jays in 2009. He played 15 games for the Jays that season, which was his last stint in the majors. Following the emphatic Game 1 victory for the Blue Jays, the 44-year-old admitted that he probably won't wait another three years until he watches his next baseball game."-Beggs

Hayhurst admitted on X that he hasn't watched any baseball for that length of time, but he is refinding his love for the game.
Confession: This is the first baseball game I've watched in 3 years. Truly. I feel like I'm at a high school reunion or something
Hayhurst also admitted that while he didn't play a huge role in the Blue Jays franchise, they played a big role in his life, After retiring for baseball he was a broadcaster for the Blue Jays on Sportsnet.
I wasn't a big part of the Jay's story, but they sure were a big part of mine! Proud and excited to cheer on the Jays - WS Champs 2025! Let's go!
It's a heartwarming moment, and it shows how what the Blue Jays have done this season is bringing everyone together.
