Former Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Jake Lamb just announced his retirement earlier this week and has already landed his first job following his playing career.

Lamb announced a few days ago that he decided to hang up his cleats after 10 years in the MLB including the last few in the minors.

Jake Lamb lands job with the Diamondbacks

During his career, Lamb spent the majority of his years in the MLB with the Diamondbacks in which he had his best season in 2017 when he was voted an all-star and finished with 30 home runs and 105 RBIs.
The Diamondbacks announced that Lamb is now returning to the team as a coach as he is joining the player development staff.
Lamb's job will be primarily working with young position players in the organization but will also be spending some time working with their major leaguers as well.

This seems to be a solid hire for the Diamondbacks since Lamb has a lot of experience after spending a decade in the MLB and putting up some big numbers in some of those seasons.
Lamb's time with the Blue Jays did not last long as he only saw action in 12 games in which he finished with 1 home run and 6 RBIs with a .129 batting average and .256 on base percentage before being designated for assignment.
There has been quite a few former Blue Jays players heading into coaching this off-season and there will likely be more as the winter goes on.
