Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Easton Lucas was just released by the team and has already found himself a new home overseas as he is leaving the MLB.
There were rumors floating around after the Blue Jays released Lucas that he would be heading over to Japan and it looks like that is exactly what happened.
Easton Lucas signs with the Hanshin Tigers
The news was announced late last night that the Hanshin Tigers from the Nippon Baseball League in Japan have agreed to a contract with Lucas.
The Hanshin Tigers have signed LHP Easton Lucas.
Lucas (29) has struggled at the MLB level.
He does have decent stuff, and given that the Tigers were able to fix Jon Duplantier, this could be a good landing spot for him.

The Blue Jays acquired Lucas back in 2024 as they claimed him off waivers from the Detroit Tigers as he would play for three teams that season.
Lucas never seemed to find his groove in the MLB as he finished with a career 8.02 ERA in 42.2 innings pitched and 40 strike outs with a 4-3 record throughout his three years in the league.
Hopefully Lucas will be able to prove himself in the NPB and could find his way back to the MLB just as Blue Jays pitcher Eric Lauer did and has now grown into a reliable MLB pitcher.
Lucas is only 29 years old and the NPB is considered by many as the second best baseball league in the world which is why depending on how he does overseas, an MLB return could be in his cards.
