The Rangers announced this morning that they have selected Tellez' contract and have called him up from the minors as he will be replacing Jake Burger after he was placed on 10-day IL.
Veteran 1B Rowdy Tellez will get the call-up from Round Rock for tomorrow's opener vs Detroit per

He will take the place of Jake Burger, who the Rangers announced yesterday will begin the second half on the 10-day IL with a left quad strain

Tellez, 30, appeared in 62 games with Seattle this season before being DFA'd. He posted a .208/.249/434 slash with 11 HR and 27 RBI. In 15 AB with Round Rock, he's hitting .333 with a pair of dingers.
Rowdy Tellez is coming up to join Rangers
This does not come as much of a surprise since most were shocked when the Mariners decided to DFA Tellez since he was having a decent season in Seattle.
Before being DFA'd Tellez played in 62 games with the Mariners in which he hit 11 homeruns, 27 RBIs to go along with a .208 batting average and .249 on base percentage.
While this numbers don't jump off the page, they are also not numbers for a player that ends up getting released which is why it is not surprise that he is back in the MLB.
