Royals announce that they have signed Alberto Rodriguez
Rodriguez has been bouncing around the Mexican Baseball League over the last year after being let go by the Seattle Mariners in 2024 and have been putting up some very solid numbers with a slash line of .315/.397/.497 which has resulted in this new deal.
Ex-Mariners prospect Alberto Rodriguez is currently hitting .474/.565/.816 in the DWL after posting a .315/.397/.497 line this past year in Mexico. Still only 25, he'll probably land a minor league deal (if he wants one).
The Royals announced that they have agreed to a minor league deal with the former Blue Jays outfielder as Rodriguez looks to work his way back at another chance at the MLB.
The Kansas City Royals signed OF Alberto Rodriguez to a minor league contract.
During his time with the Blue Jays organization, Rodriguez only ever played in with the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays back in 208 and 2019 where he put up solid numbers with 5 home runs and 34 RBIs in his first season.
The Blue Jays ended up trading Rodriguez to the Mariners back in 2020 where he stayed until he was let go last year.
It will be interesting to see if he is able to bounce back after a year away and if he will finally be able to get called up to the MLB.
