The Reds recently announced that they have decided to avoid arbitration with Moll and have signed him to a new one year deal for the 2026 season.
The Reds have locked in Sam Moll for 2026 with a 1-yr deal, avoiding arbitration, while letting Will Banfield, Roddery Muñoz & Carson Spiers walk (non-tendered) and hit free agency. Team keeps a lefty bullpen arm & frees up roster/salary flexibility for next year.
This is clearly a solid deal for the Reds as Moll was projected to sign for $1.2 million which means Cincinnati is saving quite a bit of money with this deal.
The Cincinnati Reds have avoided arbitration with Sam Moll. They agree to a 1-year, $875k deal with incentives according to @JonHeyman .
MLB Trade Rumors projected Moll to get $1.2 million.
Last season, Moll had a bit of a down year as he finished with a 6.38 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched for the Reds but had quite a few solid seasons prior to that.
Moll did not spent much time with the Blue Jays as he was claimed off waivers back in March of 2018 and would finish the season there but would not see any time in the MLB before moving onto the San Francisco Giants.
