Royals release former Blue Jays pitcher Trevor Richards
The Royals announced that after clearing waivers,
Richards refuse his assignment to Triple-A which has resulted in him being released back into free agency where he will look to find a new contract.

Trevor Richards Elects Free Agency
RHP Trevor Richards has cleared outright waivers and is a free agent.
It is no real surprise that Richards was released after he put up some atrocious numbers during his stint in Kansas City, finishing with a 12.00 ERA in 3 innings pitched.
Richards best season in the MLB came when he arrived in Toronto back in 2021 where he finished the season with a 3.50 ERA between 3 teams but has had an ERA of over 4.00 in every other year of his career.
When looking at his numbers throughout his career on top of the brutal season he has had so far in 2025, it will definitely not be easy for Richards to find himself a new deal.
Hopefully the former Blue Jays will be able to convince another team but it will certainly be on a minor league deal in which he will need to prove himself in the minors before getting another shot at the MLB.
