Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trevor Richards is surprisingly back in the MLB
Former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Trevor Richards is officially back in the MLB as the Arizona Diamondbacks have called him up from Triple-A.
Richards has had a very tough season in 2025 as he is currently on his third team this season after being released by both the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals earlier this season.
Former Blue Jays pitcher Trevor Richards is back in the MLB with the Diamondbacks
About a month ago, Richards agreed to terms on a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks and was assigned to their minor league team, the Reno Aces.
This morning, the Diamondbacks announced that they have selected Richards' contract and called up his up from the minors as he has been added to the 26 man roster.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have selected the contract of RHP Trevor Richards to the MLB roster from AAA.
Richards is not the only played that has been called up as the Diamondbacks also called up Adrian Del Castillo and Sergio Alcantara from Triple-A as well.

The most surprising part in all of this is that Richards will be getting another chance at the MLB after putting up a 12.00 ERA with the Chicago Cubs in 3 innings pitched.
Richards has also been struggling with the Reno Aces as he currently has a 6.57 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched their this season which makes the roster move even more surprising.
Hopefully the former Blue Jays relief pitcher will find a way to show that he can be a useful bullpen arm for the Diamondbacks and will stick around in the MLB for the rest of the season.
