This news comes only a few days after GM Ross Atkins stated that the Blue Jays will not have any trouble landing top free agents without having Guerrero signed to a long term deal.
Clearly
Burnes is looking for a large payday but he also wants to make sure that he is going to a team that is committed to winning which is why he is skeptical of the Blue Jays since they are saying that they are but failing to make moves to back it.
It has been clear to pretty much everyone except Atkins that top free agents such as Soto, Burnes and Fried as looking for team's that want to win and at the present time, the Blue Jays do not seem to fall in that category.
Atkins needs to start making some serious moves and proving that he is looking to put together a great baseball team if he wants to land players such as Burnes.
