The MLB postseason is fast approach and the Toronto Blue Jays are still the AL East leaders, a big part of that is because of George Springer 's resurgent season, the veteran had kind words for his team and city during a recent interview.
The two-time silver slugger winner is nearing towards the end of his career as he turned 35 this season but seems to still have plenty left in the tank.
Springer thankful to Blue Jays for reigniting his career.
Aaliyan Mohamed of Newsweek spoke on Springers success this season, even though he has won almost everything there is to win this sport, he is still thankful for the opportunity he received in Toronto.
"I love these guys," Springer said, per MLB.com's Brent Maguire. "It makes it easy to do my job every day and not do too much," Springer said. "We complement each other well. Everyone understands how each guy hits and each guy's strengths. Nobody is just trying to be the guy every single day. We just want to have a good at-bat and get on to the next guy."-Springer
Springer will prove to be a real weapon this postseason, if history repeats itself his experience in clutch and high pressure situations is something the Blue Jays have in short supply.
"Springer is a two-time Silver Slugger with a .268/.346/.529 slash line in the postseason. He also has 19 postseason home runs in his career. If the Blue Jays do make a World Series run, Springer figures to be a huge reason why."-Mohammed
Due to the nature of his Word Series win with the Astros, Springer will look to win a championship without all the controversy, and this might be his real last shot at doing so.
Springer is clearly thankful to be in Toronto and the Blue Jays are without a doubt to have him there as well.
