News: The #BlueJays have DFA'd Ryan Borucki to make room for No. 1 prospect Trey Yesavage, who makes his MLB debut tonight.
This move comes as a bit of a surprise since the Blue Jays only acquired Borucki in late August after he was DFA then released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Borucki played in 4 games for the Blue Jays this season in which he had a 0.00 ERA in 4.1 innings pitched while striking out 5 batters in that time with a 1.62 WHIP.
While Borucki's sample size was not very big with the Blue Jays, the moved to designate him for assignment seems quite surprising.
Some would argue that the Blue Jays had other pitchers that would likely be better options to be let go than Borucki but it looks like this is the decision the Blue Jays felt would be best for the team.
