Jeff Passan Speaks on the Blue Jays chances of winning the World Series
MLB insider Jeff Passan is one of the most respected voices in baseball and he recently had some big praises for the Toronto Blue Jays and their chances of winning the World Series.
The Blue Jays were recently ranked among rival players and coaches as the team to beat in the playoffs with how they have been playing.
Jeff Passan has high praises for the Blue Jays World Series hopes
Passan recently game a playoff previews of all teams and had a lot of good to say about the Blue Jays as he believes that they have a real chance of winning the World Series.
According to Passan, the Blue Jays do not strikeout, they field very well and have been able to overcome injury problems all season long while still winning games which is why he does not believe missing Bo Bichette will be a problem.
"The Blue Jays don't strike out, and they field as cleanly as any team in the postseason field. Toronto has scuffled lately, yes, and the culprit is a punchless offense. But Toronto has spent much of the season with one of the game's best units in runs scored as well as wOBA, and although Bo Bichette's return from a knee injury is questionable, the Blue Jays still have enough to mash their way past teams." -Passan
If the Blue Jays want to win the World Series, Passan believes that they will need to have their pitching performing at a high level while adding that they do not have a clear ace but that they a lot solid depth.
"They'll need good pitching, and while there isn't a clear ace or lockdown bullpen piece, they have droves of arms capable of excellence. There's a reason the Blue Jays have spent much of the season fighting for the best record in the American League. Excellence isn't accidental. And not striking out in the postseason is quite the excellent predictor of success." -Passan
Additionally, Passan added that if they end up going home early, it will because of their offense as they have had moment even just a couple weeks ago where their offense disappears.
"the offense doesn't wake up. The Blue Jays' recipe for scoring runs this season centered around putting the ball in play and not striking out while still featuring some power." -Passan
The Blue Jays have a real chance to win it all but they cannot simply sit back and take it easy.
