Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media today ahead of game 6 and announced that one of their starting pitchers is done for the season.

While the Blue Jays did announce some bad news today, they also announced that George Springer would be able to play after his recent injury which has fans ecstatic.

John Schneider confirms Jose Berrios is done for the season

Berrios has had a rough ending to his season which first started when he was demoted from the starting rotation to the bullpen which he did not take too well after being a starter for many years now.
Ahead of the ALDS, the Blue Jays announced that Jose Berrios who had recently gone down with an elbow injury had no structural damage but would not be available for that series but some had hope he would return in the playoffs.
Follow-up for Jose Berrios showed no structural damage in elbow, but he won't be a factor in ALDS as he's still not throwing. Possible he's ready later in the playoffs.

Chris Bassitt, meanwhile, progressing well and should be available for ALDS.
Ahead of game 6 this afternoon, Schneider confirmed that Berrios is done for the season and that there has been no progress with his recovery as they are giving him time off and will take a look at his elbow once again in the off-season.
Jose Berrios (right elbow) is back to playing catch, per John Schneider.

Nothing concrete in terms of updates. The plan is to revisit his situation this off-season. #BlueJays
If the Blue Jays found a way to make it to the World Series after tonight, having Berrios in the bullpen would have certainly helped but also been a risky move since he has not pitched in close to a month.
The Blue Jays will have to look at his future in Toronto since they might no longer need him next season with Trey Yesavage becoming a full timer.
