John Schneider sends message to pitcher after the Blue Jays loss to the Guardians last night
The Toronto Blue Jays had a tough loss yesterday which fell on Yimi Garcia's shoulder as he cost them the game in the ninth inning which manager John Schneider spoke on after the game.
The Blue Jays had a 3-1 lead heading into the ninth inning last night when Yimi Garcia came in to close out the game and ended up costing the Blue Jays as the Guardians won 5-3.
John Schneider sends clear message for Yimi Garcia
Garcia has been one of the Blue Jays best and most reliable pitchers this season along with Jeff Hoffman, last night seemed to simply be one of those that simply did not go right for him.
After the game, manager John Schneider spoke on the loss stating that despite how things went, the team still has all the confidence in the world in Garcia since he has been a power house this season.
"We've got all the trust in the world in him... I'll give the ball to Yimi 100 times out of 100 in that situation." He added, "Losing sucks. Yimi's been so freaking good for us for a long time. It just happens sometimes." -Schneider
Garcia has been great for the Blue Jays this season as he currently has a 2.45 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 14.2 innings which is a massive step up from his 6.96 ERA from last season.
Garcia's performance this season has been solid overall, with a 2.45 ERA, 20 strikeouts, and a 0.95 WHIP over 14.2 innings pitched. This represents a significant improvement from his 6.96 ERA over 29 appearances in the 2024 season.-Adeduyite
This was a tough loss for the Blue Jays but they will clearly bounce back as they have really turned thing around over the last few games after a disaster of a losing streak over the last couple weeks.
Hopefully Garcia will be able to bounce back in his next appearance.
