Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider gave an update on the team's ALCS roster and gave insight as to who has a chance of making it this time around.

The Blue Jays announced this morning that Kevin Gausman will start game 1 which makes him the first lock for the starting rotation which was not much of a surprise.

Toronto decided to keep Bassitt and Scherzer off the roster for the ALDS which was only 5 games but it looks like things might be different for the ALCS since it's 7 games and they will not be able to get away with only 3 starting pitcher.
According to Schneider, the Blue Jays are looking at possibly including both Bassitt and Scherzer in the lineup but did not specify in which way they would look at using them.
«I could definitely see them being part of it.»
He mentions that the best-of-seven series makes it likelier that they'll need some length (which could mean another starter or a long reliever). #BlueJays
Schneider added that both pitchers are feeling good which is why the team is seriously considering them for a roster spot but the definitive answer will only come out tomorrow morning.
John Schneider says there's likely room for some more length on the Blue Jays' ALCS roster this time, with Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt both earning consideration for spots. Both feeling good.

The Blue Jays might end up sending one of these pitchers to the bullpen for the series but they will definitely need to at least have one in their starting rotation since a 7 game series with only 3 starting pitchers will not work.
