Kevin Gausman has reportedly put his Toronto home on the market for $6.885 million. For Blue Jays fans hoping for a reunion, it isn't a great sign.

The six-bedroom Lawrence Park house was listed with Harvey Kalles Real Estate, according to the Toronto Sun.

The family could take a loss. They bought the home, built in 2019, for $7.65 million in 2022, after he signed his five-year, $110 million deal with the Jays.

He spent four and a half seasons in Toronto. He and his family embraced the city and Canadian culture, which made him a fan favourite well beyond the mound.

The timing is telling. The listing comes months after the Blue Jays traded him to the Cubs at the deadline.

He and his wife, Taylor, were spotted back in Toronto late last month during a Cubs off day. It was speculated then that the trip may have kicked off the selling process.

Kevin Gausman's house listing cools Blue Jays reunion talk

His future is still undecided. After the Padres swept the Cubs in the wild-card round, Gausman said, “Honestly, I don't know.”

“I have to sit down and talk with my wife and figure that out,” he added. “I've been doing this a pretty long time and my kids are only getting older.”

He started Game 2 of that series and allowed three runs on five hits.

Does selling a house rule out a return? Not necessarily, but it's hard to read it as anything other than a family preparing to move on.

He isn't the first. George Springer reportedly sold his Toronto mansion for $6 million in late May, according to HouseSigma.

Fans may not love it, but this is probably the right ending. The Brett Bateman trade already worked for Toronto, and a nostalgia-driven reunion was never the smart way to fix the rotation.

Selling the house is like taking the photos down from the hallway. The memories stay, but everyone can see you're getting ready for the next chapter.

He gave Toronto some of the best pitching seasons in recent memory. Wherever Gausman lands, or if he retires, this listing suggests his Blue Jays chapter is closing for good.
