It appears that contract talks have not begun between Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette which has left the situation tense an uncertain for the future of this All Star.

If Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette stays healthy this season, he has the potential to have 200 hits and a 30/30 season in 2025.

Bichette sat down with Sportsnet's Hazel Mae explaining the contract situation and whether the Blue Jays have reached out to him to begin talks.

Bichette will be free agent after this season

«I was told they would reach out. They haven't yet,» Bichette told Mae. «In the past, it's been during spring training when they reach out to me.

«Obviously, Vladdy is [the] priority at this point.» Bo Bichette

Last season was not as fruitful for Bichette in terms of his offensive production as a 26-year-old shortstop only recorded four home runs and had 31 RBI's through 81 games.
Many baseball pundits have felt that the Blue Jays and Bichette may part ways after this season due to the loss of production.
General manager Ross Atkins also explained to Mae that Bichette holds a massive impact for the organization and that there is a willingness to sign him to a long-term deal.
«The willingness is there [to sign Bichette] and every situation is unique,» Atkins said. «Bo's a great player that we believe in and has had a massive impact on this organization, and can continue to.

Blue Jays reached a crossroad in team's future

The decisions that await GM Atkins and President Mark Shapiro will determine the future of this franchise and their own employment as Guerrero Jr and Bichette are considered by many as the future of the franchise.
Bo Bichette isn't in a rush to sign a contract extension.

It's not too often that a franchise has these two great players together and could remain with them for the rest of their careers.
It's safe to say over the next number of weeks and months the fate of the Blue Jays will rest on what they decide whether to sign or trade both players.
In the meantime, Blue Jays fans will need to sit in wait until the announcement comes one way or the other.
