The Blue Jays could look into possibly trading Kevin Gausman
Blue Jays fans were shocked to see the proposed trade since Kevin Gausman's name was in there, a player most believed to be a lock for next season but it looks like the Blue Jays might be interested in moving him.
The trade proposed had Kevin Gausman and Vladimir Guerrero Jr heading to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Michael Busch, Cody Bellinger and Cade Horton, the Cubs #3 prospect.
Minding my own business on my 16 mile stationary bike ride and @MLBNetwork had to raise my rate even more #WhatAreWeDoing ?
While the return on this trade would be great for the Blue Jays, giving up their best hitter and best pitcher seems to be a little too much even if they are looking to shake things up.
Guerrero has been the subject of trade rumors for a few weeks now since the Blue Jays have yet to agreed with him on a contract extension and multiple MLB executives have stated that the Blue Jays are looking to move him.
The biggest surprise of this proposal is the inclusion on Gausman who has been seen as a lock for next year since the Blue Jays rotation already has problems and trading away your best pitcher will certainly not help.
Hopefully the Blue Jays do not end up going this route since it will surely end up affecting their rotation in a negative way.
