The Toronto Blue Jays have quite a few contract coming to an end within their management and a massive update was announce regarding John Schneider's future in Toronto.
Schneider is far from loved in Toronto as many fans believe that he has failed to get the full potential out of his players since taking over as manager which is what he is paid to do.
Blue Jays are apparently looking to sign John Schneider to a contract extension
During a recent podcast, reporter Ben Nicholson-Smith had some high praises for Schneider stating that he he has a high baseball acumen when it comes to small details which makes him so affective.
Nicholson-Smith says, «Schneider has a very high baseball acumen when it comes to just little random stuff like knowing whether Josh Lowe hits left-handed or whether certain players have reverse platoon splits.
He knows this just off the top of his head. A lot of managers have that, but not all of them, and we're seeing his baseball acumen realized on the field this season.» -Nicholson-Smith
Reporter Arden Zwelling also added during the podcast that he believes that the Blue Jays will end up locking Schneider down to a three year contract extension that they will announce before the all-star break.
«I think right before the All Star break there should be a press conference at Rogers Centre where he gets his three-year extension, because I think that he has done such a good job and if he gets away this offseason and goes to another organization I think that will be an error on the Blue Jays part,» -Zwelling.
Nicholson-Smith agreed with Zwelling and stated that even if the Blue Jays do not bring him back, he will find another job somewhere else.
Nicholson-Smith agrees, adding that even if he's not back with Toronto next year, he will likely still have a major league job. -Sookram
This is possibly most fans nightmare situation as the majority believe that Schneider is simply not the man for the job and will never be able to bring the Blue Jays to a World Series with how he manages.
It is hard to argue since Schneider has failed to do anything significant with the Blue Jays since taking over from Charlie Montoyo.
