Not all stories have happy endings, and for the Toronto Blue Jays that was the case, losing in game 7 extra innings to the Los Angeles Dodgers for the World Series, but president Mark Shapiro made sure to let the fans know they were heard an appreciated.

The Blue Jays fans broke viewership records, ticket price records, attendance records and the playoff run simply wouldn't have been the same without the fans energy.

Blue Jays president Shapiro shows his appreciation for the fans.

Maia Tustonic of the Toronto Star wrote on the incredible experience the fans gave the Blue Jays during this postseason run.
The home crowds were electric, and the entire country rallied around a baseball team, as they tried to pull off one of the best stories ever in sports and Shapiro made sure to let the fans know that none of it went unnoticed.
"While we came up just centimetres short of a World Series Championship, those two banners will forever hang proudly at Rogers Centre - lasting symbols of a remarkable journey and season none of us will ever forget»-Shapiro

While everyone would have loved to see the Blue Jays pull off the miracle against a Dodgers team with a $100M more on their payroll, the season is just as memorable had they won.
It has potentially changed the entire landscape of baseball in Canada, especially for the younger generation, who never experience the runs of the Blue Jays 30 years ago.
"I have never been prouder to be a Blue Jay, and never more determined to deliver more memories, moments and celebrations that bind us together - as one team, one country and one fanbase. With pride and gratitude.»-Shapiro

It will be a sight to see when next season gets underway, at how many new fans the Blue Jays have acquired over the course of this season and if there will be an even higher attendance/viewership than they had this year.
