The World Series has come to a close, and the Toronto Blue Jays were 1 inning away from achieving greatness, despite the heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Blue Jays attracted record viewership across Canada.

Nearly half of the country watched game 7 and a third were on average watching the whole World Series.

Everyone tuned in to support the Blue Jays World Series.

Colton Pankiw of BlogTo reported on the incredible support and viewership drawn in from the Blue Jays and their World Series run. Although they fell just short of their goal, it was an incredible series and a game 7 that will go down as one of the most entertaining in sports history.

"Remarkably, 18.5 million viewers watched some or all of Game 7 in Canada, making up 45 per cent of the country's population. While Game 7 had the highest average audience, there were a ton of Canadians following closely throughout the entirety of the World Series."-Pankiw

It has been the highest watched Rogers broadcast of all-time and the second highest English language broadcast in Canada behind only the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

"This was the average audience for each game:

Game 1 - 7 million
Game 2 - 6.6 million
Game 3 - 5.8 million
Game 4 - 6.2 million
Game 5 - 7.2 million
Game 6 - 9.4 million
Game 7 - 10.9 million"-Pankiw

While it did not go the Blue Jays way, it sparked inspiration in Canadians who desperately needed it. Now more than ever a sense of country pride is needed, and the Blue Jays provided that for a whole season, especially a memorable postseason run.
