The MLB season has come to an end, and with the Toronto Blue Jays falling just short of the ultimate prize, there is an expectation to complete the run next season, but with a lot of current players becoming free agents this offseason, the team could look very different next season.

There over a handful of players entering the market this winter, and there's no guarantee they will re-sign with the Blue Jays.

The Toronto Blue Jays next year might not resemble the same team this year.

Edward Eng of Jays Journal reported on some notable players who will will likely not be returning to the team next season as they are all entering the free agency market.
This could result in a way different team, and not in a good way if they are not replaced as the first player that was named was Gold Glove winner Ty France.
"With his primary usage being at first base and designated hitter, those positions have been taken up by Guerrero and likely George Springer respectively for the upcoming 2026 season. Added to the Jays plethora of players that could play multiple positions in the infield, France's tenure with Toronto will be just a one-and-done outcome."-Eng

The most notable player leaving will be Max Scherzer, the multiple Cy Young winner and World Series champ, will likely not be returning to the Blue Jays as they no longer have room for him.
While he did say in an interview after the World Series he doesn't see himself retiring, the Blue Jays will likely be moving on from in hopes of finding a more consistent option.
The list also mentioned Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Seranthony Dominguez and Chris Bassitt but the one player that has everyone worried is Bo Bichette.
"It is not a stretch to think he'll command a contract north of $200 million plus. So it will come down to if the Blue Jays are willing to put the bulk of their investment in both Guerrero and Bichette for the long-term, while potentially sacrificing needs in other positions going forward."-Eng

If Bichette does leave, the Blue Jays will have a big hole to fill, while it does leave opportunity with $200M freed up, it would be difficult to find someone of Bichette's caliber.
