The MLB has announced what they will be doing with the Toronto Blue Jays unsellable World Series championship clothing.
The Blue Jays were a couple runs away from winning the World Series a few days ago but failed which led the MLB to have a ton of unsellable Blue Jays merchandise.
Blue Jays unsellable merchandise going towards a good cause
Every year, the MLB like all major sports leagues, make gear for both teams at the start of the World Series because they need to be ready to bring out the gear once that moment arrives.
The World Series title may have been just two outs away for the Blue Jays, but the championship gear for both Toronto and the Los Angeles Dodgers was made well before the first pitch. -Tsekouras
Starting in 2017, the MLB decided to put the unsellable merchandise from the losing team towards a good cause as they began to work with a charity called Good360.
Good360 donates this gear to nonprofits that distribute them to communities all around the world which is exactly what happened to all the Blue Jays gear.
Since 2017, the MLB has worked with the U.S.-based charity Good360 to connect what is described as «what could have been» championship gear to nonprofits supporting communities around the world, and this post-season is no different. -Tsekouras
This is a great way to not let all of this clothing and merchandise go to waste as many will benefit from all this clothing.
The hard part in all of this is that this really shows just how close the Blue Jays really were to winning a World Series as championship T-Shirts were printed with their name on it.
The Blue Jays will have to pull it off again in 2026 if they want to finally wear those championship shirts.
