Massive update announced regarding Bo Bichette's future with the Toronto Blue Jays
The biggest question for the Toronto Blue Jays upcoming off-season is regarding Bo Bichette and a possible contract extension which he spoke of during a recent interview.
Bichette has been on fire this season after a tough 2024 season and has made it known that he is having a lot of fun this year which points to the fact that he wants to stay.

During a recent interview with MLB insider Keegan Matheson, Bichette spoke of how great this season has been and he has made it clear that he is grateful for the position he is currently in with the Blue Jays.
«I'm super grateful that not only am I in this position, but the team is in this position,» Bichette said. «Honestly, I just want to do my best to enjoy every part of this. There's nothing better than coming to the field when the No. 1 thing is winning and it's fun to be doing that again. It's as simple as waking up and thinking about how you can win instead of thinking about where my swing is or what I can do. I wake up and I just want to win the game that day. It just makes baseball fun.» -Bichette
Matheson asked Bichette about his future in Toronto to which Bichette stated that his priorities are to win and be with an organization that has the same goal adding that the Blue Jays fans are also making a serious case for him stay.
«My priorities have always been to win, to be part of an organization that has that same goal in mind and I want to play in an exciting environment. We're checking all those boxes,» Bichette said. «It's a special time right now and the fans are definitely making their case known.» -Bichette
This is Bichette way of indirectly stating that he wants to stay in Toronto but he needs the front office to make him the right offer if he does want to remain a Blue Jay.
At the end of the day it is up to Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro because they are the ones making the offer, all Bichette can do is accept or reject it but right now it looks like there is still no offer on the table.
If the Blue Jays do end up not re-signing Bichette, they will certainly have a very hard time finding a player of his caliber on the open market next off-season.
