MLB executive blatantly insults the Toronto Blue Jays to EPSN insider Buster Olney

ESPN insider Buster Olney confirmed that an MLB executive blatantly mocked the Toronto Blue Jays to him at this year's GM meetings in San Antonio last week.
The Blue Jays current front office are in a bit of a hot seat going into the 2025 season asif they fail do make any drastic changes and end up out of the playoffs again, they will definitely be fired next off-season.

Olney was on the radio this morning with TSN 1050 and spoke of the annual GM meetings that he was at last week in San Antonio and spoke of an interesting interaction he had with one executive.
The unnamed MLB executive told Olney that the Blue Jays reek of desperation this off-season and believes that they will be making some big moves this off-season since their job is on the line.
«I had a fascinating conversation with an executive in baseball who was at the general manager's meetings last week. And before I even got a chance to ask him about specific teams, he goes, 'Well, I can tell you this. There's one team that absolutely reeks of desperation, and that's the Blue Jays.' He said they are going to do some big stuff,» Olney said to TSN 1050 today.
This executive is not wrong since the Blue Jays clearly are desperate, they are coming off an awful season in 2024 and another disappointing season in 2025 will result in some major changes in the front office.
Olney added that he believes that teams such as the Blue Jays, Dodgers and Red Sox will be making offers to Juan Soto because they need to at least be able to say they took a shot at him but it looks like no one believe he will sign anywhere else than with the Yankees or Mets.
«I haven't talked to anyone who really believes he's going to sign with any team other than the Yankees or the Mets. I do think if you're working in a front office, whether it's the Red Sox or the Blue Jays or the Phillies or the Dodgers, you've got to do the meeting because the one thing you do not want to do is to go to spring training and an idiot like me is going to say 'Hey did you guys call on Juan Soto?' And your answer is no, we didn't make the call. I mean, why not make the call? Why not have a meeting?» Olney added.
The Blue Jays need to continue to act desperate and take a shot at every possible big time free agent as they cannot afford to have another losing season.
